What should I wear?
You will find people dressed in everything from jeans and t-shirts to suits and ties. Most dress quite casually. We do not make a big deal out of what you are wearing—we are just glad you're visiting our service!
What about my kids?
Our Sunday morning worship services are family-integrated, which means children stay with their families during the service. Clipboards are available with crayons and an activity sheet, including a place for kids to take sermon notes. We know children can make noise sometimes, but when we hear the children we rejoice that they are with us!
We have a staffed nursery available for young children ages 0–4. Our nursery volunteers have completed criminal record and vulnerable sector police checks. We prioritize the safety of your children.
Sunday school after worship
Following the worship service, kids are invited to attend a short Sunday School class while the adults enjoy coffee and fellowship. We take a break from Sunday school during the summer months.
What happens during a Sunday service?
Each Lord's Day worship service is composed of the same five elements:
- Scripture Reading
- Singing
- Prayer
- Expository sermon from the Bible
- Communion
The elements of our weekly worship gatherings are governed by what we see in Scripture. This is known as the Regulative Principle of Worship. Throughout Exodus, Leviticus, Hebrews, and Revelation, we see God's people worshipping God in the form of covenant renewal.
1. Call
God is the one who calls His people to worship. The pastor reads Scripture at the start of the service as an invitation from the Lord, and we respond by offering our worship to Him.
2. Confession
We confess our sins to God, and the pastor reads Scripture assuring us of God's pardon in Christ. With Christ as our mediator, we approach a throne of grace with confidence and confess our faith together.
3. Consecration
Expository preaching is the ordained means through which God speaks to His people. We devote ourselves to the public reading and verse-by-verse preaching of Scripture, then respond by offering ourselves to the Lord and raising our voices together in song.
4. Communion
Having been called to worship, assured of pardon, and sanctified by God's Word, we are invited to the Lord's Table to enjoy communion with Christ and His people. Communion is both reflection and joyful celebration.
5. Commission
The church is a sent people. The pastor reads a biblical benediction and charges us to go into the world to take the gospel to the lost and glorify God in thought, word, and deed.
